How would you explain to a child what kind of work you do?

I do the best job in the world: I play the bassoon! As a musician, I can be whatever I wanted to be when I was a kid like you: I’m a doctor who cures souls of sad people, I’m a firefighter because my instrument looks like a fire pump, I’m an astronaut when I’m flying all around the world, I’m a mechanic when I use my tools to fix my instrument. I told you, it’s the best job in the world! And the greatest thing is that music connects people, no matter where they come from, because everyone can understand it. It’s a universal language, so I can have friends from everywhere in the world!

In what kind do you collaborate with others?

In music, collaboration with other people is absolutely necessary. In my opinion, it is crucial to respect and listen to each others when making music together, otherwise the artistic result will never be worthy. And even when playing alone, musicians are always connected to their audience, giving all their skills and efforts in exchange for some hard-earned focused attention.

How would you define success for yourself?

I define success in a rather simple way. If I’m doing something that I love, if I’m excited to get up in the morning to go to work, if I'm surrounded by people that keep me in shape and motivated, then I would say I can consider myself successful. However, success is not something that you can give for granted once reached. It has to be earned daily, with dedication and hard work, in order to be sustainable in the long run.

What blows my mind?

The fact that there are more weapons than music instruments on Earth. This one really blows my mind, and it unfortunately shows what are humanity's real priorities. Let's make music, not war!
